Revive, Survive, and Thrive

Decluttering isn’t just about tidying up our physical spaces – it’s a holistic process that cleanses our emotions and rejuvenates our energy, leading to a transformation that’s both tangible and intangible. I’ve always been organized but, picture this: last summer, I embarked on a decluttering spree, not just tackling the mountain of “stuff” I’d accumulated in my home, but also the clutter within my heart and busy mind. The process was illuminating for my whole family.

Physically, I started touching items and asking if it sparked an emotion like a book advised, but emotionally and energetically, the task was a bit more nuanced. I journaled to identify emotions that no longer served me, let go of fears, excuses and guiltI practiced mindfulness to let them go and I was able to motivate and encourage my whole family to participate…and boy, did they ever! ( I am beyond proud of them).

With each toss or removal, I felt a release of emotional clutter. The transformation was palpable; as our living space became visibly emotionally safe from trauma and more physically manageable; my mind did too. My mind is now able to focus its time and energy where it needs to be.

I want to Inspire others to start this journey. While it might seem daunting, it’s all about taking that first step and keeping it fun. You can physically start small—a drawer, a shelf or a complete overhaul of the entire house if you are ready for it. The emotional and energetic declutter comes so naturally afterwards.

So, turn on your favorite music and dance around between sorting piles. Emotionally, the process can be as simple as meditating for five minutes each day, focusing on releasing thoughts that weigh you down, or starting a gratitude journal to uplift your spirits. Energetically, try incorporating grounding practices like spending time in nature or experimenting with aromatherapy to cleanse your space. Remember, decluttering doesn’t need to be a one-time event; it’s a rewarding journey. By starting with that single drawer or a five-minute journaling session, you’re not just clearing out space in your physical or emotional world; you’re also paving the way for a wave of vibrant, quality energy to fill your life. So why not give it a go?
